By L.A.W. Designs Inc., also known as BLD, is a full-service apparel, promotional products and branding company located in Waterloo, Ontario. We help businesses, teams, organizations and individuals create custom apparel, embroidered clothing, promotional products, signage, laser-engraved items and branded merchandise.

By L.A.W. Designs was established in 2017. What began as a small garage-based business has grown into a full-service creative production shop serving Waterloo Region and customers across Canada.

Our showroom and production facility is located at 110 Frobisher Drive, Unit 3, Waterloo, Ontario N2V 2G7, near the corner of Frobisher Drive and Davenport Road.

BLD serves businesses, teams, organizations and individuals throughout Waterloo, Kitchener, Cambridge and the surrounding Waterloo Region. We can also ship qualifying orders to customers across Canada.

Yes. Our Waterloo showroom has apparel, colour and sizing samples available. Because we work with many suppliers and brands, not every available product will be displayed. Additional options can be reviewed through our supplier catalogues.

Yes. We supply branded corporate apparel for offices, sales teams, service businesses, construction companies, trades, restaurants and other organizations. Options include polos, dress shirts, jackets, quarter-zips, hats, workwear and employee uniforms.

Yes. We provide custom teamwear, uniforms, warm-up apparel, spiritwear and supporter clothing for sports teams, schools, clubs and community organizations. Available products depend on the sport, required sizing and decoration method.

Yes. We offer branded work shirts, jackets, hoodies, coveralls, hats and select high-visibility apparel. We can help determine whether embroidery, DTF printing or another decoration method is appropriate for the garment.

Customer-supplied garments may be accepted for certain projects after review. Some materials, coatings, seams and garment constructions may not be suitable for embroidery or heat application. BLD cannot guarantee the same results or replacement availability for customer-supplied products.

Minimum quantities depend on the product, supplier and decoration method. Some custom apparel orders can be produced in small quantities, while certain garments and promotional products have supplier-required minimums. BLD provides professional embroidery at our Waterloo production facility. We embroider company logos, team logos, names and other designs on hats, polo shirts, jackets, hoodies, workwear, uniforms, bags and select accessories.

Common products include polos, jackets, hoodies, work shirts, hats, toques, teamwear, uniforms, bags, towels and select patches or accessories. The product must be suitable for commercial embroidery equipment.

Most new embroidery designs require digitizing. Digitizing converts artwork into a stitch file that controls how the embroidery machine sews the design. The cost depends on size, detail and complexity. A suitable file may be reused for future orders using the same design and specifications.

Not always. Very small lettering, thin lines, gradients and extremely detailed elements may need adjustment so they sew clearly. We will explain any recommended changes before production.

DTF stands for direct-to-film printing. A design is printed onto specialized film and transferred to a garment using heat and pressure. DTF works well for colourful artwork, detailed logos and smaller apparel quantities.

Embroidery creates a professional stitched finish and works especially well on hats, polos, jackets and corporate clothing. DTF printing is often better for detailed, colourful or gradient artwork on T-shirts, hoodies and other suitable garments. The best choice depends on your logo, garment, budget, quantity and desired appearance.

Yes. Full-colour artwork can be reproduced on many products using DTF printing, large-format printing or other suitable production methods. The correct method depends on the item and artwork.

We can produce a variety of window, storefront and vehicle graphics. Every installation is different, so we review the dimensions, surfaces, artwork and installation requirements before quoting.

Vector artwork is preferred whenever possible, including AI, EPS, PDF and SVG files. High-resolution PNG files with transparent backgrounds may work for certain printing methods. Low-resolution screenshots and web images may require recreation or cleanup before production.

Vector artwork uses shapes and paths instead of pixels. It can be enlarged without becoming blurry, making it ideal for embroidery digitizing, signs, engraving and professional printing.

We make every reasonable effort to achieve consistent colour. Colours can differ between monitors, printed materials, embroidery thread, garments and promotional products. Exact matching may require Pantone references, samples or a production proof, and some materials cannot reproduce every colour exactly.

A digital proof is provided when appropriate so you can review artwork, spelling, placement and colours. Production begins after required approval and payment arrangements are complete. Customers are responsible for carefully checking all names, dates, phone numbers, spelling and supplied information.

Turnaround depends on product availability, quantity, artwork readiness, decoration method and current production volume. An estimated completion date is provided after project requirements are confirmed. Tell us about any firm event date before approving your order.

The production timeline generally begins after products, quantities, sizes, artwork, proof approval and payment requirements are finalized. Time spent waiting for information or approval can affect completion.
